SYMAPRO: a philosophy, a model, a management tool - FAQs
12. Which are the characteristics of the SYMAPRO philosophy?
- Integrated: improvements not only in the production processes but also in working conditions and attitudes are analyzed and proposed.
- Flexible: it can be adapted to any organization, regardless of the indicators to measure, interpretation and analysis.
- Permanent: involvement and continuous improvement never cease; and furthermore, they are organized by cycles.
- Inclusive: makes participate all staff.
13. Which are the bases of the SYMAPRO model?
The axis of SYMAPRO is participation.
As from this arises communication, strengthened with information and training (for technical, organizational and social understanding of the organization).
This leads to increased motivation for engagements, collaboration and responsibility, which is evidenced in better performance, and consequently improving labour productivity in the organization.
14. Which are the components of the measurement system?
SYMAPRO has four components, which are interrelated:
1) Measurement
2) Feedback
3) Improvement proposals
4) Application
As from the measurement, the staff in the organization knows where the organizational productivity is.
This allows setting priorities for improvements.
The improvements are applied and evaluated according to measurements.
Thus, a “virtuous circle” towards continuous improvement is applied.
