Digital culture in VET institutions is identified with the set of attributes, practices, skills, abilities, attitudes and knowledge that facilitate the effective integration of digital tools in the main processes of the organisation, be they educational or managerial, for the teaching and student body as well as for the staff.

It also integrates a way of thinking and behaving that takes advantage of digital resources to foster innovation, creativity, collaborative learning and problem solving. It is in this way that, by improving existing processes and creating innovative processes, organisations address the challenges and seize the opportunities presented by the digital transition.

Digital culture in vocational training institutions is directly related to the reflective and critical use of technology, creating environments where all relevant actors are articulated to carry out new training and management processes. To this end, they not only acquire knowledge, but also develop skills and competences that will enable them to take advantage of the challenges of the digital transition.

This virtual event addressed the key dimensions for organisations to accompany this change, through the experiences of SENAI, UTEC and TKnika.

Participants included Iñaki Tellería, Head of the Digital Awareness Process at Tknika in the Basque Country; Sinara Celistre, Head of the Pedagogical Practice Programme at SENAI in Brazil; Hugo Nakatani, Head of Large Scale Educational Evaluation at SENAI in Brazil; Juan Marrero, Director of the Digital Transformation Centre at UTEC in Uruguay; and Rodrigo Filgueira, Vocational Training Specialist at ILO/Cinterfor.
