Technical visit of SENA to SENAR to strengthen rural training and technical assistance actions.
From 27 to 30 August 2024, a team from the Management Group for Productivity and Competitiveness of the Directorate of the National System of Training for Work of the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA) of Colombia, accompanied by ILO/Cinterfor, carried out a technical visit to the National Rural Apprenticeship Service (SENAR) in Brazil, in the framework of the cooperation agreement between Cinterfor and SENA for 2024.
The objective of the visit to SENAR was to learn about the educational actions for rural training carried out by this institution and its contribution to the Brazilian rural population, taking into account that it is a reference institution in the field and in the region.
During the visit, experiences were exchanged on the main programmes and strategies developed by SENAR in rural education, entrepreneurship, decent work and digital inclusion.
The mission included presentations on the functioning of the SENAR system and visits to a rural enterprise and the associated guild, to understand how the technical assistance model works. A day was also dedicated to exploring the educational technologies applied in the rural sector that SENAR is developing.
From the visit to SENAR, the training model for instructors and mobilisers was highlighted, as well as the identification of common good practices, such as the diagnosis of training needs, the relationship with the productive sector and the customisation of courses according to the territory.
This exchange strengthened cooperation between the two institutions, with the aim of improving development opportunities in rural areas.
