Project-based training guide for the development of transversal skills

In recent years, since the emergence of a networked society based on the information economy, characterised by the growing weight of science, technology and information in production, important challenges have been faced by vocational training organisations and professionals responsible for the design and implementation of programmes and courses that are increasingly effective and enhance the competencies needed for labour market insertion and business productivity.
In recent years, ILO/Cinterfor has followed the training solutions of vocational training institutions and systems in Latin America and the Caribbean which, evidently, have focused on cross-cutting skill sets, seeking to integrate them into the graduate profile. At the same time, it has promoted pedagogical and methodological innovations aimed at the development of competences that benefit both teaching practices in the development of transversal skills and specific technical competences, in an integrated conception of labour competence.
With the purpose of supporting and disseminating the innovation initiatives of vocational and professional training entities, we present this Project-based Training Guide, in the context of the project management cycle, with a focus on the development of transversal competences, with the aim of involving the main actors in the design, development and implementation process so that they can use it and adapt it to their respective contexts, giving rise to collective work for a better and more efficient vocational training in the region.
