Videoconference 31/5: Certification and migrant population
On Wednesday 31 May, the second ILO/Cinterfor videoconference on Certification Systems was held; this time with a focus on migrant population. These videoconferences take place in the framework of the course on Certification of competences and Recognition of Prior Learning that Cinterfor is developing together with vocational training institutions.
Certifying migrants is a recent trend, which has been detected in the region and the world, to facilitate employment and income opportunities in destination countries for those who do not have educational credentials or work experience.
The institutions of the region, ILO and Cinterfor have worked in recent years on several projects and experiences in this regard.
This meeting was attended by María Olave, Proyecto Lazos; Igor Dedic, ChileValora; José Estay, International Organization for Migration (IOM); Javier Rincón Triana, SENA; and Tatiana Cadena for the Ministry of Labour of Colombia.
The facilitation was carried out by Fernando Vargas and Ximena Iannino.
