On-the-job Learning System. CONALEP. Hidalgo, Mexico.
General objective:
- To provide comprehensive training to students by combining learning at the educational centre and at the enterprise.
Specific objectives:
- To promote the connection between education and production sectors.
- To take advantage of enterprises technologies.
- To provide theoretical and practical training.
- To promote a suitable entry of students into working life.
- To project an enterprise.
Students of the State School of Hidalgo.
Students attend the first four semesters at school and then attend the fifth and sixth, alternatively, at school and at the enterprise.
At the enterprise, young people use their basic and extended occupational skills acquired in class. The guide teacher (from the enterprise) applies the learning plan agreed between the school and the enterprise and trains, guides and supervises tasks assigned to students. Finally, their tutor teacher (CONALEP) evaluates the performance of students together with the guide teacher and provides feedback to the school, including comments and remarks.

- Updating students' and teachers' knowledge of the new technological tools.
- Vocational training for a real demand of the labour market.
- Participation of enterprises in the design of the curriculum.
- Combining the labour system with the educational system.
- Consolidation of CONALEP's image in the productive sector.
- 4030 students of the different courses and specialties have graduated.
- 765 enterprises have participated.
- 226 collaboration agreements have been signed.
- A significant amount of donations, scholarships and economic stimulus have been received.
