Objetivos: 

Training for work and labor insertion.

Población objetivo: 

Young people between 18 and 25 who are in conditions of social and economic vulnerability: displaced, disabled, with low education and low income.

Descripción: 

FETB offers technical training, recognized by SENA, in areas related to the preservation of cultural heritage, such as construction, carpentry and cooking. It also seeks to recover traditional crafts such as handmade paper.


The courses, which last between 1 and 1.5 years, are developed under the scheme of "learning by doing", in full-time day. They are complemented with practical applications.


Young people are accompanied by social workers in the construction of their life project and acquisition of social and civic values​​.


Training includes entrepreneurial, costs and budget competences.


Candidates have a test of abstract reasoning, math and reading comprehension, as well as a group and individual interview, with the aim of identifying personal characteristics, social relationships and knowledge.

 

Factores clave: 
  • FETB links private sector entrepreneurs in order to have: employment practices, economic sustainability and open channels of entry into the labor market for graduates.
  • Participants, apart from free training, are covered by a policy in case of accident, receive transportation aid, provision for work and snacks. Financial support has proved essential to ensure the permanence of young people in training.
  • Orientation to the demand of the productive sectors.
Evaluación: 
  • From the first cycle, 67 graduated. In early 2010 46% was working: 38% in the occupation learned and the remaining 8% in another trade.
  • The reason for dropping out was the lack of economic resources and the need to work to help support the family.
  • The percentage of graduates occupationally inserted  was 47% (wood), 50% (construction) and 63% (gastronomy).
Resultados: 

During the first training cycle, between 2006 and 2008, eight courses were offered,  in which 122 young people enrolled; for the second cycle, in 2009, four courses were offered in which 75 students were enrolled, of whom 55% men and 45% women.

Contributions of companies linked to FETB, sale of services related to the different jobs and different contributions of national and international donors.
