ILO-Cinterfor, with the financial and technical support of the Lazos Project, and in partnership with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), are launching a training course entitled ‘Pathways to Opportunities: The inclusion of migrants and refugees in the recognition, validation and accreditation of prior learning (RVA)´.

The training proposal consists of four modules that will address the essential elements for making RVA a reality for migrants and refugees in LAC contexts. Throughout the course, participants will become familiar with the key concepts and basic components associated with AVR. They will also explore assessment methods and the role of digital tools in optimising the recognition of prior learning in an inclusive manner, before focusing on how to build equitable, ethical and evidence-based learning ecosystems.

The entire course will be conducted in Spanish and English

The aims of this online course are to:

  • explore the fundamental principles, mechanisms and current experiences of RVA in the LAC region, as well as other regions, while examining how far such systems are inclusive of migrants and refugees at present, in the framework of lifelong learning policy development and qualification systems;

  • encourage participants to envision what inclusive RVA for migrants and refugees may look like in their country contexts moving forward, in light of future trends;
