Intersectoral Workshop: "Towards greater alignment between education and work in the Americas"

The Organization of American States (OAS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, and the Ministry of Education of Argentina, is conducting a workshop on employment and vocational training from May 3rd to May 5th, 2023.

The general objective of the workshop is to increase knowledge and strengthen the capacities of the Ministries of Labor and Education to advance towards greater intersectoral coordination, especially regarding national and regional qualification frameworks. Some specific objectives include exchanging and analyzing concrete experiences of linkage and/or coordination between Ministries of Labor and Education in the region, discussing and exploring possible steps to design a regional qualification framework, among others.

The workshop brought together representatives from Ministries of Labor and Education across the Americas, as well as representatives of workers and employers, and international organizations, to exchange and analyze strategies for achieving better alignment between the world of education and the world of work. Fernando Vargas, Senior Specialist in Vocational Training from Cinterfor, participated in the event.
