INFOP and Cinterfor sign cooperation agreement
Today, the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFOP) of Honduras and ILO/Cinterfor took a new step in the deepening of the bond that has united them for 50 years.
Created in 1972, from the outset it has been part of the network of institutions that has been grouped around the Centre. The two institutions decided to formalise this link by signing a membership and cooperation agreement, which will henceforth be the framework for future cooperation activities with Honduras in the field of vocational training.
The challenges facing this country as it moves towards economic and social development highlight the importance of developing people's skills and, therefore, of strengthening INFOP as the governing body for policies in this field.
As a result of the implementation of this Agreement, INFOP will expand its opportunities to access the experience and knowledge of counterpart institutions in the Latin American and Caribbean region, Spain and Portugal, in fields such as competency-based training, certification of labour competencies, pedagogical innovation and training of trainers, social dialogue in vocational training, or the identification and anticipation of training demands, among others.
Vice versa, INFOP also reaffirms its character of partner of ILO/Cinterfor in the South-South cooperation on vocational training, offering its experience in various fields to other countries and institutions.
