Young people with future prospects – Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security - MTEySS – Argentina
Create opportunities for social and labour inclusion, with qualifying practices carried out in a work environment that allows the acquisition of skills required for each occupation.
Young people aged from 18 to 24 years, from vulnerable sectors, with poor access to employment due to lack of complete high school and have no accredited training or work experience.
It is a public-private intervention of training and development of qualifying practices in enterprises to respond to employment insertion of beneficiaries.
The qualifying practice comprises a phase of theoretical training in basic skills and techniques and another in a real work environment.
The duration varies from 3 to 10 months, 6 hours daily and 30 weekly.
Young people receive training in health and safety at work, in computing, the development of the curriculum vitae and job search. Participants receive a certificate issued by the company and the Ministry of Labour.
- 6 in 10 young people found job at the end of their practice and the same proportion took up formal studies.
- 49% were incorporated in companies where the practices took place.
- Participating companies highlighted: resource mobilization, improved relationship among areas, impact on recruitment policy, coordination with the public sector, civil society and community.
- By the second quarter of 2010, there were 1500 beneficiaries.
- The enterprises spread occupational profiles of young people not enrolled in the payroll, from their chains of suppliers, distributors and contractors to facilitate job search.
