Projoven (Program for Young People). Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion - Perú
General objective
Facilitate the access of young people from 16 to 24 years of scarce economic resources to the formal labor market, through specific actions of technical training and work experience coordinated with information services, empowerment and labor intermediation, which meet the requirements of business and labor market.
Specific objective
Contribute to increasing rates of participation in the labor market, quality of jobs and income levels of young beneficiaries.
Young people from 16 to 24 years with little or no work experience, unemployed, underemployed or inactive, with or without complete secondary education.
Young people with disabililties.
It provides young people with training and employment agency beneficiaries and technical assistance to entrepreneurs.
The training consists of two phases of training for work:
- Technical. It lasts three months. It is run by the ECAP that previously linked with companies from the productive sector and services, to design courses that meet market needs.
- Practical. It consists of internships in companies, whose minimum duration is three months and a maximum of six.
Through the program, improvement of employability conditions is sought, understanding it as "the ability to obtain and maintain employment."
It also offers support to young entrepreneurs by providing training for generating business in both urban and rural areas.

- Payment of a minimum wage according to the hours of work and type of contract for labor practices.
- There is a unit for assessing and systematizing information.
After training in the program:
- 67.2% of the beneficiaries found jobs,
- their working hours increased by 5.5% and revenue per hour by 18%,
- they increased their share in companies of consumer goods and to a lesser extent, in the capital goods,
- the number of beneficiaries working in SMEs was doubled,
- and, the occupational segregation by gender was decreased by 0.12 points in the Duncan index.
More than 50.000 young people have benefited from 1997 to 2010.
