Descripción: 

It is characterized by alternating training: a stage is performed in the training center and another one in the company premises.

The practical learning at the company facilities is under a learning contract (not a work contract) between the student and the sponsoring company or through a learning agreement between the company and SENATI.

The admission process begins with an academic leveling stage of 510 hours, which reinforce the basic knowledge and verify the personal conditions of applicants, to consolidate the development of basic skills. It consists of courses in mathematics, basic sciences, language and communication, basic computer skills and basic English, so that candidates develop the skills to successfully incorporate themselves into training. Vacancies are filled by those who pass the assessment of academic leveling stage.

The training period varies between 3 and 6 semesters, depending on the occupation or specialty.

The dual vocational training includes:

• Basic training, which is performed in the training centers of SENATI, it lasts 552 hours and aims to develop the technological skills necessary to successfully be incorporated in companies.
• Specific training is done mostly within the company, alternating four days of attendance in it and one day a week at the vocational training center. It has a duration of 920 hours per semester.


Seminars to complement training are regularly organized at the SENATI training centers to learn aspects that have not been performed within the company.

The professions are structured in terms of jobs or real jobs.

  • Selection of instructors: they must have senior training, not less than three years of industrial experience in their specialty and approve assessments of technological knowledge, practical skills in their field, computer skills, personal interview and class model.
  • Learning is done comprehensively: cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning objectives.
Evaluación: 
  • 78% of graduates are successfully inserted in the labor market.
  • 90.1% get their first job within three months of graduating from SENATI.
  • Apprentices take their own decisions and learn to act independently strengthening their self-confidence.
  • As the training arises from the interests and experiences of students, it is very motivating.
  • The contents learned are easily transferable to similar situations.
  • Dual training promotes retention of content, because it facilitates logical understanding of the problem or task.

 

Resultados: 
  • After meeting the new demands of employers and receive advice, the following new courses are launched: pipeline welder, structural welder, industrial mechatronics, automotive mechatronics, call center telemarketer and agribusiness.
  • 97.2% of graduates apply their expertise in their first job. It shows a high adaptation to employment; as the company participates throughout the whole training process the apprentice’s training fits the needs and culture of the company.
  • 96.4% of graduates of SENATI have an active labor activity.
  • The opinions of employers on graduates’ job performance remain above the 82.5% in the ratings of high and very high, confirming the positive trend in the performance evaluation of the graduates.
  • Participation of more than 9,000 companies in the dual learning programme.
Financiamiento: 
Costs of practical learning are covered by the enterprises.
