Digital skills training in MSEs in Latin America and the Caribbean - ILO/Cinterfor Notes Nº 15

Tapa de la Nota

Education for work and skills training have become increasingly important in the current context of global economic transformations, even more so with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has deepened this interest, focusing on the importance of acquiring digital skills as well as on the need for professional training to undergo a process of digitalization.

In Latin America there is little accumulation of information on training opportunities in digital skills, particularly in the case of micro and small enterprises (MSEs), as well as on the opportunities and difficulties faced by states to adequately structure this offer.

In this context, ILO/Cinterfor identified the need to conduct a study at the regional level, which was developed by Juan A. Bogliaccini, PhD in Political Science, and Eliana Alvarez, MA in Public Policy, both from the Catholic University of Uruguay. This Note presents a brief summary of the contents of the study, which will be published soon.
