SENA Training Workshop for Trade Union Leaders in Armenia, Colombia

During 3 days, from 29 to 31 October 2024, a training workshop for SENA trade union leaders was held in Bogota, Colombia, organised by SENA with technical support from ILO/Cinterfor. This event, developed in the framework of the SENA/Cinterfor 2024 Agreement, is part of a collaborative initiative between the two institutions to strengthen trade union participation in the formulation and management of vocational training policies.

The workshop, which continues the joint efforts initiated in 2023, aimed to train trade union leaders on the importance of social dialogue in the field of vocational training in Latin America and the Caribbean. Topics such as levels of social dialogue, the role of trade unions in training policies and their impact on social inclusion and equity were addressed. Key aspects of training today, such as certification of competencies and lifelong learning, were also discussed.

In addition to SENA trade union leaders, the event was attended by trade union representatives from other countries in the region, who shared their experiences in the creation and management of vocational training policies at national level.
