Gender Academy - ITCILO Turin

Once again, the 2017 Gender Academy will offer a forum to learn and discuss global challenges with high-level international experts, share experience with practitioners, test practical approaches and methodologies.
The Academy’s keynote lectures will focus on selected challenges, seen from an international perspective.
Themes currently under discussion currently include:
- The gender and labour dimensions of migration
- Care work, the care economy and the care value chain
- Gender equality for a fairer and job-rich growth
- Global markets, new technologies and the world of work: Challenges or opportunities for gender equality?
- From low pay to equal pay
To mark the long-standing partnership with Turin University, a special session on Gender, Economics and Society, open to the broader public, will enable participants to get up to date with most recent research in this field.
Key ILO themes will also be covered in elective workshop, such as international labour standards for gender equality and nondiscrimination; gender-sensitive national employment policies and strategies for women’s economic empowerment; maternity and paternity at work; men and gender equalities; addressing genderbased violence in the world of work.
Other workshops will offer a choice of a well-tested “portable toolkit” for gender mainstreaming; women’s leadership empowerment and transformation; gender and result-based management, basics of gender-responsive budgeting, how to be a successful gender trainer; understanding gender statistics.
