South-South Cooperation and the ILO: Mainstreaming the Decent Work Agenda through the dissemination of good practices

The Good Practices Guide on South-South and Triangular Cooperation is part of the ILO's commitment to the promotion of South-South and triangular cooperation, and is targeted at governments, workers, employers, and civil society to help them learn from initiatives based on southern solutions that have proven effective in promoting decent work. SSTC provides an important mechanism to leverage resources and expertise – in particular by facilitating the transfer of knowledge and experience of the world of work in the Global South.

South–South and triangular cooperation: The way forward

This document reviews the evolution of the concept of South–South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) within the United Nations (UN) system and in the ILO, and examines how such modalities can complement existing modes of technical cooperation. It proposes an ILO strategy for promoting SSTC in the ILO’s Technical Cooperation Programme, in line with the requirements of the Programme and Budget for 2012–13.

Cooperación Sur-Sur y cooperación triangular: El camino a seguir

En el presente documento se examinan la evolución del concepto de cooperación Sur-Sur y cooperación triangular (CSSCT) en el marco del sistema de las Naciones Unidas y en la OIT, y la manera en que esas modalidades pueden complementar los modelos existentes de cooperación técnica. El texto propone una estrategia de la OIT para promover la CSSCT en el marco del programa de cooperación técnica de la OIT, de acuerdo con lo estipulado en el Programa y Presupuesto para 2012-2013.

This year’s Global South-South Development Expo in Vienna (Austria) puts the spotlight on Energy and Climate Change. The ILO Solution Forum on Energy, Climate Change and Decent Work covered inclusive access to decent work, follow-up to Rio+20, green jobs, social protection and the promotion of workers’ rights in the field of renewable energy and climate change.

OIT/Cinterfor y su red de instituciones miembros, presentes en la Expo Global 2012 sobre desarrollo de la Cooperación Sur-Sur

Este año la Expo tiene lugar en Viena, Austria del 19 al 23 de noviembre; el tema central es Energía y Cambio Climático. La OIT presenta el Foro: Energía, Cambio Climático y Trabajo Decente, que incluye el seguimiento a Río+20, empleos verdes, la protección social y la promoción de los derechos de los trabajadores en el campo de la energía renovable y el cambio climático.
